Tezpur is a city and the administrative headquarters and municipal board of Sonitpur district in the state of Assam in northeastern India. Tezpur is an ancient city on the banks of the river Brahmaputra and is the largest of the north bank towns with a population exceeding 100,000. It is situated 175 kilometres (109 mi) north east of Guwahati, the fifth largest city of Assam, considered to be the “Cultural Capital of Assam”.

WHAT TO SEE
Agnigarh:-
India. In Hindu mythology, it is the site of the fortress which was built by Banasura to keep his daughter Usha in isolation. The name itself is derived from the words ‘Agni’ (meaning fire) and ‘garh’ (meaning fortress or wall) in Sanskrit.
Bhairabi Temple:-
The Bhairabi Temple is located on the outskirts Tezpur in Assam, India.The Goddess Bhairavi is worshipped here as She is one of the Mahavidyas of Ma Durga Devi.Its a very Important Shakti Peeth Of Assam.
Cole Park/Chitralekha Udyan:-
Cole Park, Tezpur is a very picturesque park near the centre of Tezpur. It has recently been renamed as Chitralekha Udyan although both names are synonymous. The name is after a famous character in Agnigarh Aniruddha-Usha love story.

Da Parbatia is a 6th-century architectural site of a stone-built Hindu temple.[1] On the ruins of this structure, a brick Siva temple had been built during the Ahom period,
The door frame stands in front of a large block of stone with a square cavity that held the original lingam. The two jambs have Ganga and Yamuna, two female deities, holding garlands in their hands.
The Orang National Park:-
The Orang National Park located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam, India, covers an area of 78.81 square kilometres (30.43 sq mi). It was established as a sanctuary in 1985 and declared a National Park on 13 April 1999. It is also known as the mini Kaziranga National Park.
