Tezpur

Tezpur is a city and the administrative headquarters and municipal board of Sonitpur district in the state of Assam in northeastern India. Tezpur is an ancient city on the banks of the river Brahmaputra and is the largest of the north bank towns with a population exceeding 100,000. It is situated 175 kilometres (109 mi) north east of Guwahati, the fifth largest city of Assam, considered to be the “Cultural Capital of Assam”.

By Air:-
Tezpur has its own Domestic Airport named as Salonibari Airport, Tezpur. It is well connected to flights from Kolkata and Silchar via Air India. The nearest International Airport from Tezpur is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, roughly 165 Kms from Tezpur. It is well connected to the major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Imphal, Lilabari and Jaipur etc. via Air India, Indigo, Kingfisher Airlines, Pawan Hans, Jet Airways and Druk Air.

By Road:-

Tezpur is 63 Kms from Nagaon, 75 Kms from Udalguri, 92 Kms from Paneri, 102 Kms from Behali, 132 Kms from Gohpur, 162 Kms from Guwahati, 163 Kms from Itanagar, 206 Kms from East Kameng and 263 Kms from Sagali via Assam State Road Transport Corporation (ASRTC) and some private travel service.

By Train
It has its own Railway Station named as Tezpur Railway Station which is connected to all the major cities of Assam.

Agnigarh:-

India. In Hindu mythology, it is the site of the fortress which was built by Banasura to keep his daughter Usha in isolation. The name itself is derived from the words ‘Agni’ (meaning fire) and ‘garh’ (meaning fortress or wall) in Sanskrit.

The Orang National Park:-
